Under the theme Urban, the project Individuality, Morality, and Hypocrisy was presented as part of the graduation exhibition at Nottingham Trent International College. It marked my earliest encounter with curating spatial experiences and was the first project in which I developed a strong sense of storytelling. Visitors were invited into an interactive space featuring a central Victorian-style dress, symbolic acetate projections, and layered sensory elements — including a lavender scent, historically associated with the Victorian era, and a curated playlist of period music by Michael William Balfe and Edward Elgar — all carefully composed to encourage internalised reflection on the theme.
During the exhibition, the central white Victorian-style dress acted as a blank canvas for audience interaction. Participants were invited to respond to curated excerpts from 19th-century art and literature — including works by William Morris, Augustus Egg and James Collinson of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, alongside poems by George Eliot and Coventry Patmore.
